JOHNSTON – At the conclusion of the U.S. Senate Debate hosted by Iowa PBS tonight, Michaela Sundermann, Grassley Works communications director, released the following statement.
“No one works harder for Iowa than Chuck Grassley. No one has the grit and gravitas to put America back on the right track than Senator Grassley. Tonight’s debate reminds Iowans why voters overwhelmingly place their trust in Chuck Grassley to represent our views and values in Washington, D.C.
“Mike Franken’s desperation was on full display and his ship is sinking. Time after time, Franken ignores facts and fails to understand what matters to Iowans. His positions are far too extreme for Iowa. While Mike Franken embraces President Biden and says he is doing a ‘fabulous job’ as president, Senator Grassley delivers a reality check to his opponent’s desperate efforts to score political points.
“Chuck Grassley knows Iowans are scraping by to pay for gas, groceries and utilities, and they are fed up with Biden’s open border that’s allowing deadly fentanyl to flood into our state. President Biden’s radical agenda gutted American energy independence, opened our border and put America on the wrong track. Mike Franken would be a rubber stamp for the Biden economy, border crisis, reckless spending sprees and rising crime. Iowans need a Senator who can and will hold the Biden administration accountable and get this country back on the right track.
