South Carolina Senator Tim Scott:
Chuck Grassley is “Fire”

SIOUX CENTER — During the Iowa GOP Sioux Center Reception over the weekend, South Carolina Senator Tim Scott discussed supporting Senator Chuck Grassley for re-election and his work with Grassley in the U.S. Senate.

“I came here in 2016 to campaign for — I call him General Grassley instead of Senator Grassley — because whenever he says ‘I do,’ I say ‘yes sir!’ So whenever General Grassley said, ‘come to Iowa, I want you to help me out here.’ I was like, ‘Let’s go sir.'” 

“General Grassley, just the work that’s been done since then on so many of these topics is powerful and it really does push back against the spread — almost like a metastasizing cancer — in our country, he’s been a stalwart against that.”

“Senator Grassley at the last event we had with Ashley Hinson, he just started rattling off stat after stat, back in the Obama years. I just had to sit down for a second. I was like, ‘wow.’ Whatever you all are feeding him here, feed the rest of the country too because that man is fire. I’m so thankful that he ran the Judiciary Committee … [He] changed the nation in a positive way.”

Earlier this year, Senator Tim Scott endorsed Senator Grassley for re-election.
