ASHLEY HINSON: A bright future for Iowa families

The COVID-19 pandemic has put many things in focus. We need to prioritize our health and our families. As a working mother of two young children, I want what’s best for them. As part of my mission in Congress, I’m working every day to create a brighter future for their generation and all Iowa families. Luckily, I’m not alone in this mission.

Right now, we need leadership in Washington. We need someone who has a track record of crafting policies today that will create a better tomorrow. Someone who has been vocal about getting our kids back in the classroom, who has worked to increase innovation and competition in the healthcare industry and has written bipartisan legislation to foster a safe and loving home life for children everywhere.

That’s Chuck Grassley. Plain and simple, he supports Iowa families and makes Iowa a better place to live.

Chuck Grassley uses his breadth of experience in Washington to raise awareness surrounding issues that affect Iowans from all walks of life. In 2009, he founded the bipartisan Senate Caucus on Foster Youth and continues to work as co-chair. His leadership has been critical to shining a light on issues affecting foster youth and foster and adoptive families. Much of the work in the caucus has been shaped by hearing directly from kids in the foster care system and teens who have aged out of the system. The caucus raises awareness about the serious need for foster and adoptive families throughout the country. In Iowa alone, there are roughly 8,000 children in foster care. All children deserve a safe, loving and permanent home. Chuck Grassley’s leadership in this area will help countless kids in foster care and have a lasting impact for generations to come.

His work standing up for our kids doesn’t stop there. In 2019, Grassley’s bill, the Advancing Care for Exceptional Kids Act (ACE Kids Act), was signed into law. This bill fixed a loophole to help children with complex medical conditions and their families by reducing red tape and helping them coordinate the different types of care needed outside of the hospital. Families navigating a complex medical condition have so much on their plate. This important law aims to reduce some of their burden by getting the government out of the way.

Chuck Grassley is an Iowan through and through as demonstrated by his unwavering commitment to bipartisanship. He’ll work across the aisle to get things done and won’t let partisan antics get in the way of accomplishing his work on behalf of Iowans. That’s why he’s consistently ranked one of the most bipartisan members of Congress.

Through his decades of service, people in Washington look to Chuck Grassley for leadership and results. His experience gives Iowans a voice that’s heard in Washington.

We need a strong, consistent, and common sense voice representing our state. Sending Chuck Grassley back to Washington is vital to ensuring Iowa families have a bright future. We need him in the U.S. Senate, and that is why I am proud to endorse Chuck Grassley for re-election. I’m excited to continue working with him to keep Iowa the best place to work, live, and raise a family.
