BREAKING 🚨 California Dreaming: Is Franken Running In The Wrong State?

Luke Martz | Iowa Field Report

Democratic US Senate candidate Mike Franken is running for office in Iowa but mentions California so frequently that voters would be forgiven if they thought he was running in the wrong state.

Recently on an episode of Iowa Press, he spent a considerable amount of time talking about a conversation he had with a Los Angeles mega lobbyist who believed Iowa would flip from red to blue overnight. Putting aside how ignorant that statement was, why would we care what somebody in LA has to say about Iowa’s congressional makeup? We wouldn’t.

At a campaign event in Des Moines, he spent a considerable amount of time during his remarks explaining to the audience he wanted Iowa to be more liberal like California, saying we needed more “progressive thought.” Pass.

His platform is very California too. He’s running on issues like a fully taxpayer-supported government-run healthcare system and wants to abolish the filibuster, which would undermine our state’s leverage in the Senate.

One of these instances is a misstep or, at the very least, a gaffe. When you have this many examples, it’s your entire campaign. California is a dump. Everybody knows it. It was ruined by the California Liberals that Franken likely holds in high regard, Gavin Newsom, Nancy Pelosi, Kamala Harris, and Jerry “Moonbeam” Brown.

SPOILER: If Franken thinks he can hustle the tired and failed policies of ultra-left-wing California liberals on Iowans, he’s in for a rude awakening.
