Chuck Grassley’s Campaign War Chest Dwarfs Opponent’s

WEST DES MOINES — Today, the Grassley Works campaign announced another round of impressive fundraising, growing a commanding lead over Democrat U.S. Senate candidate Mike Franken with four times as much cash on hand and donors from all of Iowa’s 99 counties. The total fundraising for Senator Chuck Grassley’s campaign to date eclipses his opponent’s by over $3 million.

“Iowa Democrats must be disappointed that their ‘star’ recruit is in such a weak financial position,” Grassley Works Communications Director Michaela Sundermann said. “Consider the outside money that poured into Iowa in 2020 when the Senate seat was viewed as competitive—to the tune of $11 million at this same time in 2020— and Theresa Greenfield still lost by 7 points. No matter how much money Franken raises from liberal out-of-state donors, Senator Grassley will be re-elected to the U.S. Senate to continue his work for Iowans. He has an unmatched record of achievements for Iowa and works harder than anyone to earn Iowans’ trust by listening and representing their views and values in the U.S. Senate.”

Below is the cash on hand comparing the U.S. Senate Democrat nominees in 2020 and 2022 at this point in the cycle:

  • Theresa Greenfield: $5,651,280.54
  • Mike Franken: $1,101,788.76

Below is the cycle-to-date raise comparing the U.S. Senate Democrat nominees in 2020 and 2022 at this point in the cycle:

  • Theresa Greenfield: $11,608,897.69
  • Mike Franken: $4,633,291.95
