Franken: “Proud” to Announce Support from Anti-Ag Group

WEST DES MOINES — Yesterday, Mike Franken proudly announced the endorsement of the leftist, anti-agriculture League of Conservation Voters (LCV). LCV supports the radical Green New Deal and the disastrous Waters of the U.S. rule (WOTUS), which would regulate 97 percent of Iowa land as protected waterways, crushing Iowa small businesses, farmers and homeowners.

A radical Washington, D.C. environmentalist group is all in for Franken’s anti-farm agenda. Both Mike Franken and the LCV support the radical Green New Deal, which would destroy Iowa agriculture as we know it. They also support WOTUS, a federal power grab that would crush agriculture, construction and manufacturing workers. It’s odd that Mike Franken thinks selling out our farmers is a winning strategy in a state powered by agriculture. Franken continues to show how out of touch he is by welcoming the endorsement of a group that wants the federal government to regulate 97 percent of Iowa land as protected waterways, an absurd government overreach that has been challenged in the courts. Farmers make the best Senators and we already have that in lifelong family farmer Chuck Grassley,” Grassley Works Communications Director Michaela Sundermann said.

Grassley has been an outspoken critic of WOTUS to stop the Obama-era federal overreach from going back into effect under President Joe Biden.
