Grassley Works: Wounded Finkenauer Campaign Stumbles Onto Ballot

WEST DES MOINES – In response to the Iowa Supreme Court decision permitting Ex-Rep. Abby Finkenauer to appear on the ballot for the U.S. Senate Democrat primary in June, Grassley Works Communications Director Michaela Sundermann released the following statement.

“The bottom line is Abby Finkenauer thumbed her nose at Iowa’s election laws. Hundreds of other candidates of both parties followed the rules. When Finkenauer didn’t, instead of admitting fault, she called it a partisan attack, even though her campaign was connected with an effort to object to her primary opponent’s nomination papers. Despite what Democrats and the Biden administration think, laws need to be followed and enforced. Iowans are sick of open borders, crime sprees and COVID mandates they require on others but don’t follow themselves.

“Iowans have a Senator who outworks and outperforms every Democrat in Iowa. Senator Chuck Grassley does not take the people of Iowa for granted. He follows the law and goes above and beyond requirements to qualify. That’s why Senator Grassley has always worked to gather as much support from Iowans as possible to get on the ballot. He directed our campaign to get signatures from all of Iowa’s 99 counties. The Grassley campaign collected nearly three times more than the required number of signatures from Iowans who want another six years of Senator Grassley’s strong leadership. The Senator we need is the Senator we’ve got.”
