NRA Endorses Chuck Grassley, Awards the Iowa Senator A+ Rating
WEST DES MOINES — The National Rifle Association Political Victory Fund (NRA-PVF) announced its support for Senator Chuck Grassley’s re-election to the U.S. Senate in a letter this week.
“As the highest-ranking Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, [Grassley has] led the opposition to the Biden administration’s attempts to ban lawfully-owned firearms, ammunition and magazines, as well as unyielding efforts to undermine the Second Amendment by weaponizing the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives against law-abiding gun owners,” Jason Ouimet, Chairman of the NRA-PVF said in the letter. “NRA members also appreciate that [Grassley] recently blocked an attempt by anti-gun Senators to bypass regular order and quickly pass so-called ‘universal’ background check legislation on the U.S. Senate floor.”
“I’m grateful for the support from the NRA and its members and the high marks attributed to my legislative record,” Grassley said. “The Second Amendment guarantees American citizens the right to keep and bear arms. As the top Republican on the Senate Judiciary Committee, I will fight against radical gun control laws that infringe on the rights of law-abiding gun owners.”
Grassley received an A+ for his legislative record defending the Second Amendment. The letter explains, “an ‘A+’ is reserved for a legislator with not only an excellent voting record on all critical NRA issues, but who has also made a vigorous effort to promote and defend the Second Amendment.”
